On September 11, 2024, the stars aligned at UBS Arena in New York to celebrate the year's top musical achievements. From Sabrina Carpenter's hit single "Espresso" to the collaborative track "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone, the night was a celebration of music at its finest. At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Flavor Flav joined Olympian Jordan Chiles on stage to present the first award of the evening for Best Collaboration. While Taylor Swift and Post Malone took home the Moon Person for their collaboration, Flavor Flav had a special surprise for Chiles.
In response to the recent news that Chiles had been stripped of her gymnastics bronze medal, the iconic rapper gifted her a bronze clock necklace, which he had previously hinted at on social media. Additionally, he promised to provide her with the cash prize she would have received as a third-place finisher.
"And guess what else, too," Flav announced on stage. "I got your prize money... I just wanted to surprise you with that. I didn’t want to say anything backstage."
He added, "But Jordan, you did your thing. Congratulations. You deserve everything."
**02 of 10: Taylor Swift and Post Malone's Heartfelt Acceptance Speech**
Taylor Swift kicked off the VMAs with a bang, winning the first Moon Person of the night for Best Collaboration with Post Malone for their track "Fortnight" from The Tortured Poets Department.
“There’s a clear reason why Post Malone is everyone's favorite collaborator,” Swift began, addressing Malone directly. “It’s because you’re incredibly talented, versatile, and the most down-to-earth person.”
In return, Malone expressed his admiration for Swift, saying he was "at an absolute loss for words," but praised her as “one of the kindest and most talented people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing.” Read more
